It was revolutionary of a Rabbi to let a woman 'sit at His feet'; Mary realised this and choose the more excellent way. I believe her heart was in the right place, but in all the planning and preparation, she lost sight of what is most important - Jesus. We do this today - we get wrapped up in our churches groups and activities, pot lucks, different ministries that we forget the most important part of all of that - Jesus. How is our relationship with Jesus? Do we spend time with Him daily? Do we read our Bibles daily and put things into practice daily? I don't think what Mary did was wrong in cooking for Him (after all, that's being hospitable which we are supposed to do) - but her trying to pull Martha away from Jesus IS wrong.
